Wooden Thangy

Rob Gilkerson acquired the wood object shown below at an estate auction of a power company lineman's 40 year accumulation of stuff. Rob thinks the item may be a hand chiseled strain insulator made from a decay resistant wood like cedar or juniper. The estate auction was in Canon City, Colorado.
